Multitel's new HX 195 is a cost effective and simple to use machine designed to meet tha market's current needs.

Multitel Pagliero chose the GIS show in Piacenza Italy to launch two new machines, the start of a number of activities to celebrate 100 years in business for the family run and owned company.

The new machines were the HX 195 19.5m working height machine mounted on a 3.5t chassis and the 29m working height MX290 mounted on a 7.5t model. Managing director, Renzo Pagliero said that these machines were developed in response to the market's current requirement to keep things simple at a lower price and with a low cost of ownership. The first units will be delivered in July with full production beginning in September/October this year.

Mr Pagliero said that the company will launch at least two more new machines this year with at least one on show at APEX in September.

Multitel is also in the process of building a new factory close to its existing headquarters in Manta, Italy. The facility will have capacity for 1500 units a year.

Mr Pagliero said that he had noticed an improvement in some European markets, with growth in France, Germany and Sweden, the Italian market this year, he said was similar to 2010 although he felt it had held up well particularly in the 3.5t chassis sector.

Austrailia and the Middle East markets are also improving and Mr Pagliero said that the company plans to start promoting itself in the US again, "We tried this three or four years ago," he said, "then the market went quiet. It is time to try again."
