UPR, which rents large generators and ancillary equipment for large outdoor events and construction projects, has subsidiaries in China, the Philippines and Indonesia. Approximately 40% of its revenues come from China.

This acquisition is part of Nishio’s strategy to expand its rental business internationally so that it can continue to make use of the assets it has accrued for the 2020 Olympics, once the sporting event is over.

Nishio said that, with the acquisition of UPR, it hopes to strengthen its expertise in large event rental and offer a total rental solution.
