Paul Tynan, the winner of the IAPA 2013 Access Photograph of the Year award, has been presented with his prize.

Mr Tynan, an operator with Summit Tower Hire in Australia, could not make the awards ceremony, which took place in Miami, US, on 26 March. Instead, Jan Denks, Bronto Skylift sales director, picked up the award on his behalf.

The Access Photograph of the Year award includes a €1000 prize and was again generously sponsored by UK rental company Facelift Hire. The award, which is now in its second year, saw a large number of entries from across the world, but it was a picture taken by Mr Tynan at the MacArthur wind farm in Victoria, Australia, that won over the panel of independent judges.

Mr Tynan was operating a Bronto Skylift S70-XDT when he noticed the shadow of the turbine he was working on stretching across the open plains - the result was this breath-taking shot. He was presented with the award certificate at Summit Tower Hire headquarters by the company’s chairman Mike Wilton. Mr Wilton said, “Paul was very thankful of the award and has done us proud.”

The International Awards for Powered Access (IAPA) are jointly organised by KHL Group's Access International and Access Lift & Handlers magazines, and the International Powered Access Federation (IPAF). The next IAPAs will take place in Windsor, near London, UK, on 3 April 2014. Look out for more information soon.
