UK power and lighting rental company Power4 doubled its turnover to £5.8 million (€7.3 million) in its 2007/8 fiscal year. Operating profits almost tripled to £1 million (€1.25 million).

Paul Wilson, managing director, said, "We're one of the fastest growing temporary power and lighting companies in the UK. The last 12 months has seen significant growth across both our hire and design and installation divisions, securing a number of long term and high profile hire contracts as well as more bespoke temporary power work for the likes of Network Rail and Subocean Ltd."

Power4, based in Immingham, North East Lincolnshire and a division of fox&cooper, said it had increased its fleet of power generators and lighting towers by £1 million (€1.3 million) last year and has budgeted an additional £1 million in capital expenditures for this financial year. It has also increased its headcount by 12% and is searching for new headquarters on the south bank of the Humber estuary.

Power4 has offices in Essex, County Durham and North East Lincolnshire and its generator fleet ranges from 7.5 kVA to 1250 kVA.
