The 31st edition of SaMoTer, Italy’s largest international construction equipment exhibition will see a focus on future tech and sustainability.

The event will take place at the Veronafiere exhibition centre in Verona, between 3 and 7 May, 2023 - for the first time since 2017.

The show will be viewed by visitors and exhibitors as an opportunity to see first-hand the shift the construction industry has made into digital technology and sustainability, following the coronavirus pandemic.

The SaMoTer organisers say they expect the trade show in particular to capitalise on the recovery in the Italian construction industry, which ended 2021 showing output growth of 30%, compared with the previous year.

Furthermore, as part of its ongoing strategy to increase the reach of the event throughout Europe and beyond, a series of initiatives is being developed to support the internationalisation processes of SMEs, with an emphasis on B2B presentations and business meetings during the trade fair.

Giovanni Mantovani, CEO of Veronafiere, said, “We have a date at last for the return of SaMoTer after the long pit stop caused by the most acute phase of the pandemic.

“The supply chain was significantly impacted by the cancellation lack of one of its landmark professional appointments in Europe.”

He added, “Trade fairs continue to confirm their role as one of the main tools for promoting business. We are now working with our main partners, including Unacea, to design a show in 2023 that will meet the expectations of companies and our stakeholders, while taking into account the highly expansive scenario that will be assigned to the Italian construction sector in coming years with over €107 billion in the National Recovery and Resilience Plan.”

Along with six exhibition halls and a comprehensive conference programme, the exhibition will include three outdoor elements, with demonstration areas where visitors can see and get hands-on with construction equipment.
