In August CE asked respondents about their company's accident rates. Asked how their accident statistics compared to a year ago, the majority, 51%, said they were similar. Some 43% said accident rates were lower, and only 6% said they were higher.

Of the respondents who said accident statistics had risen, one person said the main danger activity was, "Manual handling operations."
