Rental associations discuss key topics

The Global Rental Alliance (GRA), made up of seven peer equipment rental associations from across the globe, discussed a number of topics during its latest meeting, held this month.
The meeting took place via a webinar in early-August, with participation by association executive staff, and the members discussed approaches to GRA membership expansion, data standardisation, rental careers, safety, technology and diversity within the industry for both rental businesses, and with manufacturers.
The GRA said that membership engagement was central to the associations, with each striving to include young professionals in leadership initiatives.
The alliance said its International Business Leadership Program, administered by the ARA Foundation, was a key aspect of the GRA program for young professionals. It said that an Australian rental representative would travel to the US to participate in this program, later this year.
The GRA said that its leadership program continued to build awareness of the importance of equipment rental worldwide and the value of networking on a global level.
On closing the meeting, its representatives identified topics for further roundtable discussion at their 16th annual meeting, which will be held 22 February, 2018 at The Rental Show in New Orleans, US.
The GRA added that the countries shared information regarding their annual conferences, focusing on education/training, new equipment and networking events.
