German shipping company Rickmers has ordered six Liebherr heavy lift ship cranes.

The order includes four type CBB 4700 heavy lift ship cranes, each with a lifting capacity of 450 tonnes, and two type CBB 3450 heavy lift ship cranes, each with a lifting capacity of 120 tonnes.

The cranes are due to be installed on two ships in the Hudong-Zhonghua Shipyard in Shanghai, China. They have a low total weight and a low centre of gravity for increased ship stability, a company spokesperson said.

Each crane is being built by Liebherr-MCCtec Rostock in Germany and will be delivered in 2014.
