Transport company Van der Vlist transported two silos from central Europe to Saratov in South-western Russia.
The silos weighed 15 tonnes each and measured 18 metres long, 3.6 m high and 3.3m wide. For the first part of the journey the silos were transported by road 1,000 km to the North of Germany, before being loaded onto a ferry and shipped across to St Petersburg.
On arrival in St Petersburg the silos travelled a further 1,600 km to Saratov. The final part of the journey was organised by Van der Vlist’s Russian office.
Along with the two silos, three tilt trucks were also used to carry parts for the silos.
