Skyjack unveiled its new SJ85 AJ artiulated boom at The Rental Show and also displayed its SJ1256 TH that was debuted at World of Concrete.

The new SJ85 AJ articulating boom fills out Skyjack’s offering in the core 40-foot, 60-foot and 80-foot boom classes. The SJ85 AJ offers a platform height 85 feet (25.91 m) and up and over clearance 34 feet (10.36 m), dual capacity rating of 750 pounds (227 kg)/500 pounds (340 kg).

“At Skyjack, we design all our equipment with rental companies in mind, so The Rental Show is a great
opportunity for us to showcase our two new additions this year – the SJ85 AJ, which features class-leading platform height of 85 feet; and the SJ1256 TH telehandler, which brings our superior load chart performance to the 12,000-pound lifting capacity market,” said Brad Boehler, president, Skyjack.

Skyjack’s Tier-IV final compliant SJ1256 TH will be available for purchase in the second quarter of 2017.

The SJ85 AJ features a horizontal outreach of 56 feet and up-and-over clearance of 34 feet.

“Operators will definitely notice how much easier it is to get to max height and back down with the SJ85 AJ,” said Corey Connolly, product manager at Skyjack. “Skyjack’s riser design is what sets our new boom apart from similar machines in its class. There is no need to worry about performing multiple functions to lift the riser. The SJ85 AJ’s riser performs the same as all other Skyjack articulating booms – it goes straight up and down.”
