19 July 2010

Wind turbine transport specialist Ter Linden Doetinchem, has ordered trailers for 100 tonne loads from Broshuis in the Netherlands.

The six-axle trailers are for carrying wind turbine tower sections weighing up to 100 tonnes. These sections can be transported at shorter overall length and lower height overall for the whole vehicle, making them more efficient.

It is a new concept. Ter Linden said it chose Broshuis for its technical ability to find an innovative solution and for its experience with projects for turbine manufacturers Vestas and Siemens.
