Jeff Elder has been appointed as president for Trojan Battery

Deep cycle battery manufacturer Trojan Battery has named Jeff Elder as its president.

"I am grateful for the opportunity to lead this world-class organization and to work with a dedicated team of employees who are committed to manufacturing and marketing industry leading products," Elder said.

Elder has been at Trojan for five years, previously serving as chief operating officer and chief financial officer. Prior to joining Trojan, Elder was chief operating officer and chief financial officer at Dynamic Cooking Systems.

Elder will report to Rick Godber, chairman and chief executive officer of Trojan, and will be responsible for overall strategic management of all Trojan operations. Godber will continue his role as chairman and CEO.

"As a family owned business the position of president at Trojan has historically been served by a Godber family member. Jeff Elder will be the first president in Trojan's 85 year history that has not been family member. This extremely important appointment demonstrates our confidence in Jeff's leadership capabilities," said Godber. "Jeff has demonstrated the ability to expand Trojan Battery into new market opportunities with market share gains in both renewable energy and trucking industries, as well as increased Trojan's core business during challenging economic times."
