Vinci wins two major roads projects in Australia

Seymour Whyte, a Vinci Construction subsidiary in Australia, has won two new contracts from the government agency Transport for New South Wales (TfNSW) worth a total of nearly AUS$385 million (US$255 million).

As part of an overall project to extend the M1 Pacific Motorway by 15km to complete the ‘missing leg’ between Sydney and Brisbane, Seymour Whyte will build the 5km northern section of this motorway which will bypass the town of Heatherbrae.

In western Sydney, Seymour Whyte will participate in the project to upgrade a 6.5 km long section of Mulgoa Road, in consortium with Turnbull Engineering and client Transport for New South Wales.

Mulgoa Road is said to be a key artery linking the community of Penrith to Greater Sydney, with traffic of 52,000 vehicles per day. The work consists of widening a section of Mulgoa Road to six lanes and creating priority lanes for public transport as well as corridors dedicated to soft mobility.
