Wacker Neuson has become a partner in the Sequello digital platform for construction logistics. Sequello was launched last year by Austrian contractor Porr and Umdasch Group Ventures, the investment arm of Umdasch Group, owner of Doka.

Sequello aims to simplify construction site logistics for customers and suppliers by providing a digital platform to order and track materials and equipment. Wacker Neuson will become an equal third partner, joining Porr Equipment Services – the equipment and logistics division of Porr’s German business – and Umdasch’s investment arm.

Wacker Neuson has become a partner in the Sequello digital platform for construction logistics.

The platform digitalises supply chain processes that are normally paper-based, allowing contractors to place electronic orders for supplies such as concrete or gravel, check order status online, and enter all data up to invoicing.

Wacker Neuson said there were plans to add modules for construction equipment and rental.

The manufacturer said it would bring to the venture its “insights and expertise from the manufacture, sale and rental of light and compact equipment.”

Alexander Greschner, Chief Sales Officer of Wacker Neuson, said Sequello will make everyday life easier for customers and boost efficiency; “Digitalizing order, delivery and billing processes offers our customers real added value and we see major potential to develop Sequello into an industry-wide solution.

Wacker Neuson said it would contribute its “expertise in the manufacture, sale and rental of light and compact equipment”.

“That is why we are contributing our industry insights and expertise as well as human resources to this joint venture with Porr and Umdasch Group Ventures.”

The platform, which is provided by SAP, is available as a web application or directly integrated in ERP systems.

The technology will be showcased at the digitalBAU trade fair in Cologne, Germany at the start of June 2022, with roll-out planned over the course of the year.
