Germany-based crane rental company Breuer & Wasel has put its new Liebherr LTM 1750-9.1 mobile crane to work on a wind turbine site.

The first job for the mobile crane was to erect four wind turbines at a site near Brunsbüttel, Germany. Each of the turbines has a capacity of 3.4 MW and a hub height of 78 metres.

The LTM 1750-9.1 has a 52 m telescopic boom and a capacity of 750 tonnes. It fills a gap in the range between the LTM 1500-8.1 and the LTM 11200-9.1.

Commenting on the new crane, Jürgen Oprée, Breuer & Wasel technical manager, said, "We need around one-third of the time required to move a comparable lattice boom crane. The crane has absolutely delighted our customer. He loves the fact that it takes so little time to move it and has already promised follow-up orders."
