ZPMC to supply new Pakistan port terminal

Pakistan’s South Asia Pakistan Terminal (SAPT) has ordered five quay cranes and 15 rubber tyred gantry cranes from Shanghai Zhenhua Heavy Industries (ZPMC), a unit of China Communications Construction Company (CCCC).

The first part of the order - four quay cranes and six RTG cranes - will be delivered before 1 July 2015. The remaining quay crane and nine RTGs will be handed over before 1 September 2015.

Operations at SAPT in Karachi Port will start in 2015 and it will have an annual throughput capacity of 1.5 million to 2 million TEUs (ton equivalent units).
