Spiecapag, a subsidiary of Vinci, has been awarded the contract for three lots of onshore gas pipelines as part of the Trans-Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) project.

One lot, between Kipoi and Kavala, in Greece, is 185km, while the other two lots, between Bilisht and Topoje, in Albania, total 215km.

The TAP will connect to the Trans Anatolian Pipeline (TANAP) at the Greek-Turkish border, and will cross Greece, Albania and the Adriatic Sea connecting to the Italian gas network. Once completed, the TAP project will transport gas from the Shah Deniz II gas field in Azerbaijan into Europe.

Jean-Claude Van de Wiele, managing director of Spiecapag, said, "We have begun mobilisation of our teams to allow work to start in mid-2016.”
