More details have been obtained on the progress of Liebherr's LTR 11200 telescopic crane first announced in IC March 2008 News article "1,200 tonne Liebherr telescopic crawler".

The LTR 11200 will be a crawler tracked version of the record-breaking 1,200 tonne capacity LTM 11200-9.1. "Close to ten units, all over the world" had been sold by late November 2008, according to a Liebherr spokesperson.

Wind turbine company Enercon will take the first unit. Main application for the new model will be wind turbine erection and maintenance, especially on multiple turbine wind parks.
