Xylem provides rental solution

Xylem has rented its Godwin NC100 Dri-Prime dewatering pump to Spanish environmental engineers OMS-SACEDE for the maintenance of its Denia wastewater treatment plant in Alicante, Spain.

The pump manufacturer said OMS-SACEDE was seeking to improve the efficiency of its tank cleaning process, and that its rental model provided the company with the latest technology, while avoiding capital expenditure on pumping equipment, associated maintenance and storage costs.

Xylem’s Godwin NC100 Dri-Prime dewatering pump features Flygt N-technology with a 30kW electric engine to clean the two tanks, which are 30m each in length, 2m in width and 5m deep.

Xylem said its compact, portable, but highly powerful pump was capable of fitting on the narrow moving walkway above the tanks, which are 1.15m high.

The pump offers flow capabilities of up to 243m³/hr, and its Flygt N-technology is said to deliver sustained efficiency, which the company said resulted in lower energy and fuel costs.

Xylem’s dewatering pump cleaned both tanks at the Denia plant in five days, where previously the same task had taken “several weeks” to complete.#
