Evans began his career with Aluma Systems in 1989 before joining UBS in 2000. As a registered professional engineer, he holds degrees from the University of British Columbia and a Masters in Engineering from Columbia University.

UBS was founded in 1931 and is an expert in the field of specialty access, scaffolding, hoisting and protection systems. The company has performed work on high-profile projects such as The Statue of Liberty, Grand Central Terminal, The Washington and Jefferson Memorials, Battery Park City, Canary Wharf in London, St. Patrick’s Cathedral and The Capitol in Washington DC. Founder Harold O’Callaghan even supplied materials for the construction of the Empire State Building, the first building to exceed 100 stories, UBS said.

“Working with Chris the past 18 years, I’m excited to begin a new chapter in my family’s company,” said CEO and chairman Kevin O’Callaghan. “We have a three-generation successful legacy that Chris will continue as an integral part of. He has been purchasing stock in UBS over the last several years, becoming a valued visionary partner.”

“It’s rewarding to be part of a close-knit company like UBS and I greatly appreciate the confidence invested in me through this new role,” Evans said. “Since 2000, I have been proud of my involvement with this company’s premier portfolio and commitment to safety. It’s an esteemed reputation I am gladly tasked with perpetuating as president.”
