Scottish demolition contractor Bardem has chosen a 25 t Volvo EC250E as the flagship excavator for its growing project portfolio.
Following an initial introduction from SMT GB’s local dealer Rockbreakers UK, Bardem operations director Willie Dunbar saw the excavator for himself at a trade event last year.
He placed an order within seven days.
“We wanted to go to a larger size of excavator and the new EC250E has become our flagship excavator in our mixed fleet of equipment,” said managing director George Barclay.
“So far, we’ve been more than pleased with our decision to opt for a premium brand and we are delighted to be associated with owning and operating a Volvo,” he continues.
The EC250E is powered by a Volvo eight-cylinder engine developing 213 hp. Operators can select the best work mode for the task at hand, ensuring optimum performance and fuel efficiency.
For Bardem, the new EC250E has been enhanced with heavy-duty belly plates, side-impact protection rails, guarding for the boom, bucket cylinders and a heavy-duty falling object guard structure for the cab.
In addition, the machine has been supplied with a mix-and-match quick coupler, heavy-duty extreme bucket and an X3 proportional rotation circuit to facilitate the use of rotating implements such as shears and sorting grapples.
