Star provides low level for leisure complex

UK powered access rental company Star Platforms has provided nine low level access platforms for the New Addington Leisure Centre in London, UK.
The push-around Power Tower units, which have a working height of 5.10m and a width of 0.78m, have a lifting capacity of 250kg and are a modern alternative to aluminium towers.
The New Addington Leisure Centre development comprises a six-lane 25m swimming pool, four sports halls, a 28-station gym and onsite parking.
Richard Stok, Star Platforms business development manager said, “We pride ourselves in providing the right machine when the customer needs it. After a conversation about the work they [the contractors] were doing on site, we identified the Power Towers as the best option due to their lightweight nature. They offer an added benefit of battery powered elevation; making them very efficient when operators are consistently moving up and down as they were expected to do on this application.”
Star Platforms also provided a Skyjack 3226 electric scissor lift. The lift has working height of 9.92m, a width of 0.8m and weighs just 1890kg, which enables it to navigate narrow corridors and work in tight spaces. The model’s 227kg of lifting capacity also allows the operator to take tools up in the platform.
The New Addington Leisure Centre is expected to open in the Spring of 2020.
