Italian gearmotor, drive system and planetary gearbox manufacturer Bonfiglioli has moved to a new headquarters in Carrum Downs, Victoria, near Melbourne, Australia. According to Bonfiglioli, the new 3,500 square metre facility expands the company’s quality assurance (QA), testing and production engineering capabilities and can accommodate twice the stock that the previous facility could.

Bonfiglioli says the move was fuelled by increased demand in the Asia-Pacific region and by the desire to improve the QA of its products. The new facility has a dedicated quality assurance testing area, which includes the capacity to locally test larger size electric motors and gearboxes than the previous facility. “At the new facility every Bonfiglioli product is QA controlled both in and out, which means that every gearbox that leaves our warehouse has been fully tested and our customers can be assured that they will meet all safety and Standards compliance requirements,” said Michael Mullen, regional manager, VIC, SA and TAS at Bonfiglioli Australia. In addition to a dedicated testing area, the new facility also has a dedicated spray booth and a service area for maintenance and reconditioning of used gearboxes.
