Wirtgen says the high break stability of the carbide cutters can handle large rock pieces

Milling machine manufacturer Wirtgen has produced a new range of milling tools for soil stabilisation.

In addition to point attack cutting tools, with conventional carbide tips, the range now features Wirtgen Compact Carbide (WCC) milling tools.

The Germany-based road construction specialist says its new tools have a highly wear-resistant carbide cutting edge that, it claims is highly impact resistant, due to the strength of the material used in its manufacturer.

The company said that, due to their shape and materials, the new WCC tools are ideal for mixing cohesive soils, which are interspersed with large pieces of rock.
