Tokyo Sky Tree becomes Japan's tallest building

The under-construction Tokyo Sky Tree, a new radio and television antenna, has reached 338 m-high, making it the tallest building in Japan.

It has now surpassed the 333 m-high Tokyo Tower, a radio and television transmission tower.

When complete in 2011 the tower will be one of the world's tallest at 634 m.

When opened in 2012 it will join the 52 year-old Tokyo Tower as one of the capital's top tourist attractions.
