Attending the Miami 2016 World Demolition Summit was a turning point in Budget Demolition’s approach to safety. The company moved from having a safety programme to having a safety-first culture.

Key steps taken to shift the safety culture were: rebranding; operations; site meetings and inspections; annual safety training; a top down approach; local safety programmes; equipment maintenance and training videos.

Erith launched a new training division, Erith Training Services (ETS), aiming to improve both itself as a business and the industry in general. It offers more than 80 training courses to the wider industry and have seen the quality of training rise since ETS’s inception.

O’Keefe Demolition

The O’Keefe “What If” campaign was created in line with the board members’ safety vision and the company’s strategy for removing risk in its business. The campaign is based around proactively managing safety by removing hazards and the psychology of giving.

What If focuses on creating and embedding a hazard aware culture that empowers all members of O’Keefe to personally take ownership of safety.
