Fagioli has helped demolish the Morandi bridge in Genoa and build its replacement

Fagioli was involved in the demolition of the Morandi bridge, which had collapsed in 2018 leading to the deaths of 43 people. It also featured in the construction of the San Giorgio bridge, which replaced the Morandi and was opened last month.

Andrea joins Angus Holdsworth of Andun Consultants on the programme, with further speakers to be announced soon.

Angus Holdsworth will discuss the demolition of the Churchill Way flyover in Liverpool, United Kingdom.

Traditionally a live event that has been held in venues as diverse as Amsterdam, Dublin, London, Boston and Miami, this year’s WDS will be online due to the impact of Covid-19 on preparations for the event.

However, it will still have the mix of conference presentations and the World Demolition Awards ceremony that has made it so popular over the years, including a record attendance of over 450 delegates at the Boston summit in 2019.

The WDS is organised by Demolition & Recycling International in co-operation with the European Demolition Association and the National Demolition Association of the USA. The headline sponsor is Volvo Construction Equipment.
