The heavy cranes division of UK crane company Ainscough Crane Hire worked with UK bridge manufacturer CTS Bridges to help install a new 40 metre bridge over the River Goyt in Stockport. Ainscough was appointed to the project by CTS Bridges as part of its work for main contractor Bethell Construction.

To install the bridge Ainscough used its Liebherr LTM1750-9.1 800 tonne capacity mobile crane with 204 tonnes of counterweight and a 52-metre guyed main boom.

The bridge is part of a new off-road walking and cycling route, which is one element in Stockport Metropolitan Borough Council’s £73million Town Centre Access Plan.

Ainscough’s heavy cranes team on this project comprised: Dave Baxter, technical contracts manager; Mark Brown, lift supervisor; and crane operators Ashley Winter, Danny Carrick, Kevin McLafferty and Andy Jackson.
