Crane manufacturing restarts in Germany at the Tadano Demag factories in Lauf and Zweibrucken on 4 May.

The production schedule will be adjusted to accommodate the fact that workers need to meet the social distancing requirements, the company explained. “We are alternating production shifts and adjusting the level of activity to ensure our factory workers’ safety,” said Jens Ennen, Tadano Demag CEO and Kenichi Sawada, Tadano Faun CEO, in a joint letter to customers.

“We continue to proactively monitor the situation with equipment deliveries and adjust our production schedule accordingly,” Ennen and Sawada continued.

In terms of parts and service, cross-border delivery delays and travel bans are expected to hamper efforts at least in the short term, the company said.
