€230 million French metro contract awarded

A consortium led by Vinci has been awarded a €230 million contract to construct Line B of the Rennes metro in France.

The contract includes building 8km of tunnel together with nine stations and four emergency shafts. Vinci said the tunnel boring machine would start up at the end of 2014, with completion of the project scheduled for February 2018.

The members of the consortium are Vinci subsidiaries Dodin Campenon Bernard, GTM Ouest and Botte Fondations, as well as contractors Spie Batignolles, Spie Fondations and Legendre Génie Civil.
