The EPF (Edge Protection Federation), a UK trade body dedicated to promoting high standards of collective edge protection, has joined the AIF (Access Industry Forum).

The nine members of the AIF, which is an alliance representing all the principal trade associations and federations involved in temporary and permanent work at height, has also recently welcomed the Work at Height Safety Association to its ranks.

Comprising the major suppliers of edge protection equipment and systems, EPF members must meet the stringent requirements of the EN 13374 performance standard and, like many of the AIF member organisations, the EPF produces a definitive Code of Practice and delivers and manages a specialist, industry standard training scheme.

EPF spokesperson, Peter Bond said, "The Federation has been very active in improving the level of knowledge and competency in the critical area of edge protection. It therefore seemed a natural and logical next step for us to join the Forum."

Peter Bennett for the AIF agrees. "The AIF is all about providing knowledge and information directed at improving safety and proficiency on site. The Edge Protection Federation has similar objectives and is therefore a welcome addition to the Forum."
