Allied re-enters scrap shear market

US attachment supplier Allied Construction Products, long time exclusive North American Sandvik hammer dealer, marked its return to the demolition shear sector with the launch of a new model at the recent National Demolition Convention in Las Vegas.

The AMS-40 shear on show is the middle sized unit of what will be a three model range that will be complete by the end of 2011, with all three featuring full rotation

as part of an effort by Allied to improve its product range and meet demands from its district managers for such a product line.

Designed for use on excavators weighing from 20 to 35 tonnes, the AMS-40 weighs in at 4,546 kg (10,000 lb), has a maximum jaw opening of 762 mm (30 in) and delivers a cutting force of 145 tonnes at the tip.

It features four-way indexable cutting blades, fully protected pocket nose blades and a bolt-on bracket. The MS-40 has been designed for use in a number of applications in the scrap processing, industrial contracting and demolition sectors.

At ConExpo, the AMS-40 will be joined by a number of new breakers on the Allied stand including four Allied-branded Sandvik breakers that will be new to the USA, and several new AOL Series models.
