Another narrow track crawler for I.V. Guindastes

Brazilian crane rental company I.V. Guindastes has added another Liebherr LR 1600/2-W crawler crane to its fleet.
It is a 600 tonne capacity narrow track model for erecting wind turbines. The used machine, built in 2012, was purchased from Liebherr in Ehingen, Germany. An 18 month wind farm contract in Brazil is its first job. It is working for Wobben Enercon in João Camara in the Brazilian state of Rio Grande do Norte.
Commenting on his choice Igor Boff, I.V. Guindastes co-owner, said, “In addition to the price, the fast availability is one of the main arguments for buying used cranes as far as we are concerned.” Earlier in 2017 I.V. Guindastes bought a pair of used Liebherr LTM 1100-4.2 wheeled mobile cranes.
Boff continued, “The Liebherr crawler crane has a very functional design and is economical to use. Its track width of just 5.8 metres makes it ideal for travelling on narrow tracks in wind farms and it also delivers very good lifting capacity values.”
The I.V. Guindastes fleet now stands at 25 units, 18 of which are Liebherrs, the manufacturer said. There are already two more of the narrow track model so additional equipment can be shared between the three machines, Boff said.
