Germany-based manufacturer Bomag will launch its new BVP 10/30 single direction plate compactor at ConExpo in Las Vegas, US.

The company – which will exhibit at stand 30610 in the central hall – said its new product was the lightest in its class at 46kg. It features a balanced lifting point, meaning it can be quickly loaded and unloaded from transport vehicles without any support equipment.

The model also boasts a new compact design and narrow plate width at 30cm, which Bomag said made it perfect for compacting confined spaces. The BVP 10/30 has a compaction force of 10kN and comes with an optional vulcolan mat, which is ideally suited for setting paving stones, said Bomag.

Bomag’s new model is powered by a 2.1kW Honda engine with vibration isolation mounting and a low oil alert.

Its hinged handle features rubber mounts which claims to minimise vibration transmitted back to the operator’s hands and arms for improved comfort. Bomag also added that the enclosed V-belt guard design kept material from entering the chamber, which ensured a longer service life.
