Brødrene Christensen, from Tjæreborg in Denmark, opened a new recycling centre in Esbjerg in 2014, where it recycles asphalt, concrete, bricks and other construction debris. The company has long been active in the recycling business and has considerable experience in mobile crushing plants. However, its old jaw crusher and separate screening plant was proving unsatisfactory since the two could only produce some 400 tonnes of 0-32 mm diameter product, the most popular size, every day.

Rockster's Danish distributor, Meldgaard Handel A / S from Aabenraa, is a long time business partner of Christensen and showed the Rockster R1100D to the company. "I suggested that we demonstrate the R1100D impact crusher with screen box and return belt at their yard, because I was personally convinced that this unit would be perfect for their requirements," said sales manager Klaus Meldgaard. On the first day, a throughput of 900 tonnes was achieved and on the second 1,200 tonnes of 0-32 mm was produced. Given the quality of the resulting output, Christensen has already added several new customers for material processed by the R1100D.

Rockster crushing plants can be supplemented with a screening system consisting of a screenbox and return belt that makes crushing and screening possible on one mobile plant. Christensen uses it to crush 0/32 directly as well as re-loading and crushing oversized material. Including the screenbox and return belt, the R11000D weighs less than 40 tonnes and can be easily transported without the need for special permits.
