GAP Group in the UK has ordered more than 300 Atlas Copco compressors and signed a deal that sees Atlas Copco become its sole compressor supplier for two years.

The initial order of 300 compressors comprises XAS 47, 67 and 137 units, including versions with built-in generator and HardHat canopy. The machines will be delivered between April and July this year.

Ken Stewart, group procurement manager at GAP, said; “Atlas Copco has the best commercial package, a strong global brand name and a good national aftersales network. The compressors themselves are robust, reliable and have low cost of ownership.

“The relationship that we have with Atlas Copco has been key in making this decision. We have enjoyed a long-standing working relationship in which the Atlas Copco team has been very receptive and responsive.”

John Fitzpatrick, business line manager UK for Atlas Copco Portable Energy division, said; “This deal represents the significant benefits that our compressors have in the rental industry. They offer great value and outstanding return on capital employed.”

Glasgow-based GAP employs around 1000 people in more than 60 locations covering the UK. As much as 70% of its rentals come from national accounts.
