Lifting Gear sold to Axel

UK-based family-owned lifting equipment provider, Lifting Gear UK, has been sold to the lifting solutions business group of Axel Johnson International.

The company has 12 depots across England and Scotland

Lifting Gear UK was founded in 2007 in Leyland, Lancashire, and has 12 depots across England and Scotland. It offers equipment hire, specialist sales and services, contract lifting and bespoke design and fabrication.

“I believe Axel Johnson International is the ideal owner to help grow Lifting Gear UK’s business and brand recognition. I am confident that the group’s culture and know-how of the industry will support further growth of the company,” said Chris Turner, former shareholder and founder of Lifting Gear UK Group.

“Becoming part of Lifting Solutions group will provide us with an excellent platform to further expand our presence and streamline our supply chain. We are looking forward to working closer with the group to further enhance our excellent customer service,” said Andrew Harrison, Lifting Gear UK Group managing director.
