Metabo is launching its new 5.2Ah battery pack in May

German power tool company Metabo is to launch a 5.2 Ah battery pack on May 1, 2013.

The 5.2A h follows the earlier launch of a 4.0 Ah battery pack offering cordless technology with 18 V. The 4.0 Ah proved popular, said Metabo, especially with the UK market, driving Metabo to launch another unit, the 5.2 Ah, also available with 18 V.

The new battery pack generation with 5.2 Ah will be available for all Metabo 18 V cordless power tools. Compared to 4.0 Ah, this new battery pack generation offers an additional 30% of performance.

Also at the start of May, the manufacturer will introduce a new LT range, which will complete its three-tier 14.4 V and 18 V range providing Li, LT and LTX models.

The new LT models will use the 4.0 Ah as standard, with some key products in the LTX line using the 5.2 Ah battery.
