New 814K wheeled dozer from Cat

Caterpillar has launched a new 814K wheeled dozer which features a new cab, efficient power unit and transmission drive, and centralised service station configuration.
The 814K is said to be particularly suited to utility work at mines, heavy civil construction backfilling and grading work, and ground preparation and subbase work on airport and commercial projects.
The wheel dozer’s upgraded cab design features isolation cab mounting and seat air-suspension to safeguard the operator against machine vibration feedback. The quiet cabin reduces operating noise levels to just 71 dB, compared to 78 dB of its predecessor.
The dozer’s new Vital Information Management System (VIMS) allows technicians to connect directly to the machine to access a range of sensor information and data. This allows managers to create productivity reports, identify operator training opportunities, see data logging of machine parameters and diagnostic codes, and monitor machine health.
The new 814K is powered by the Cat C7.1 ACERT engine, which meets US EPA Tier 4 Final and EU Stage IV emission standards.
Offering four forward and reverse speeds to match application demands, the wheel dozer’s powershift transmission is designed specifically for the most demanding mining applications.
Two Cat blade design options offer durability and dozing and rolling characteristics. The 2.84m3 straight blade delivers high production dozing on stockpile material and general earthmoving projects. Alternatively, the 10.5m3 coal blade provides precise and productive dozing.
The Cat 814K wheel dozer is available for worldwide orders. The first machine shipments are planned for June 2018.
