Sandvik has introduced the Bretec M17C and L20C hydraulic breakers to replace the existing M17 and L20 models, with the former for carriers in the 15 to 23 tonne range and the latter for 20 to 29 tonne carriers. They weigh in at 1,240 kg (2,728 lb) and 1,650 kg (3,630 lb) respectively, with impact ranges of 280 to 760 bpm for the M17C and from 390 to 700 bpm for the L20C.

According to Sandvik, the two new attachments now incorporate a number of features that are intended to extend their durability and reliability, and also reduce ownership and operating costs.

These include round retaining pins to extend service life, a new tool retaining system, an improved tool seal, dust-protected housing, idle blow protection and automatic greasing. In addition, both new breakers make use of durable hydraulic hoses as standard, a high pressure accumulator that protects against pressure peaks, improved gas sealing for extended service intervals and an improved, self-adjusting pressure control valve to eliminate oil spills.
