Wampfler in Germany will deliver its energy supply system for 10 new Gottwald Port Technology automated stacking cranes in the Port of Antwerp, Belgium.
The cranes, which can stack up to five containers high, will be supplied with motorised cable reels for the main power supply and energy guiding chains for trolley traversing and vertical movement of the spreader.
Fully loaded, the cranes travel up to 240 m/min, making them the fastest cranes of their type, said Wampfler, which, in turn, puts high demands on the energy supply.
The company developed solutions to ensure a trouble-free operation, it explained.
“The cranes are designed to travel at wind speeds of up to 10 on the Beaufort scale to guarantee operation even under the hardest conditions,” said Claus Burger, Wampfler project manager.
