Steiger T 630 completes Ruthmann series

Ruthmann has completed its Height Performance series with the launch of the 63 m working height Steiger T 630.

It has been one and a half years since the Germany-based manufacturer launched the first model in the series, the 46 m working height Steiger T 460 at the Intermat exhibition in Paris.

The lateral outreach is a particular feature of the series, and the T 630 offers 39 m, “Five metres of additional reach compared to previous work platforms in the 58 m working height range,” says the company.

Overall length of the T 630 is 11.9 m, meaning it can be driven on all roads throughout Europe without special permits or exemptions. It is mounted on a 4-axle truck with a gross vehicle weight (GVW) of 32 tonnes.

The model shares technical features with the rest of the Height Performance range, including the 20 m long upper boom with its movable Russel jib and optional Lift-Up system for heavy and bulky items. The outriggers can be controlled from four different locations.

In addition to the main control panel in the working cage, there is an auxiliary control panel on the chassis and two more control units at the rear of the vehicle.

“Models in the Height Performance series can be mounted on a great variety of chassis brands. Carrying out assignments below the surface is not a problem for any of these models,” said a company spokesman.

The boom system is made of high strength, fine-grained steel, and is multi-bevelled for performance, stability, and rigidity.

“This prototype will be used as a demonstration model. In the weeks and months ahead Ruthmann will be introducing the brand new Steiger T 630 to customers and interested parties in Germany and around the world.”
