Sunbelt gives away Ford Bronco

Sunbelt Rentals has announced the winner of the company’s First Edition for Our Heroes Sweepstakes, a fundraiser to support the Veterans Programs provided by the Gary Sinise Foundation. Sunbelt presented a 2021 fully loaded, first-edition Ford Bronco to Brenda Eagle of Bordentown, NJ, the winner of the sweepstakes. All proceeds from the entry donations directly benefit the foundation’s programs.

John Washburn, executive vice president at Sunbelt Rentals and Craig Cannon, national account manager with Ford, present Brenda Eagle with the key to her 2021 fully loaded, first edition Ford Bronco.

Eagle and her husband Ron, a retired wounded combat veteran, accepted the Bronco during a ceremony on Veterans Day at the Sunbelt Rentals location in Fort Mill, SC. The veteran community has always held a special place in Eagle’s heart because she has numerous service members in her family. She and her husband are also active in veteran initiatives and volunteerism.

“We are pleased that the Bronco went to such a deserving person and that it is for such a good cause. We feel privileged to be involved with the Gary Sinise Foundation and their mission to educate, inspire, strengthen and build communities,” says John Washburn, executive vice president at Sunbelt Rentals. “This fundraiser was a means for Sunbelt Rentals to level up our commitment to the foundation and aligns with our own mission of supporting our veteran teammates.”

Sunbelt Rentals entered into an executive-level partnership with the Gary Sinise Foundation in 2016 and is actively involved with the foundation’s R.I.S.E. (Restoring Independence Supporting Empowerment) program by providing tools and equipment at no charge to build specially adapted homes for wounded veterans. A portion of rental proceeds from co-branded Sunbelt Rentals and Gary Sinise Foundation equipment — more than 550 units — has also benefited the foundation’s programs. Since the inception of the partnership, the company has donated more than $6 million in combined monetary and in-kind donations.

“Sunbelt Rentals has continued time and time again to support the Gary Sinise Foundation and our programs that allow us to serve and support our veteran and first responder communities, individuals who have sacrificed everything in service to our country. We are grateful for their commitment to GSF and giving back to these American heroes,” said Mike Thirtle, CEO of the Gary Sinise Foundation.
