UK System Scaffold Hire buys former Haki UK facility

UK System Scaffold Hire (UKSSH) has purchased the former UK head office and logistics hub of scaffold company Haki Ltd.

The deal for the Tamworth site, located in the Midlands, also includes £1.5 million (US$2.1 million) worth of Haki’s scaffold systems.

While the full value of the acquisition was not disclosed, UKSSH said the purchase reflects the company’s “impressive” growth and that it would run the new site in addition to its current Chesterfield base.

Haki Ltd has meanwhile moved to a new location in Tamworth. The move comes after Haki extended its partnership with its exclusive dealer Enigma Industrial Services, under which Haki customers can collect or take delivery of scaffolding from seven regional distribution centres in the UK.

Gary Griffiths, UKSSH managing director, said, “The acquisition further cements our relationship with Haki as their preferred Hire Partner and will obviously make it easier for us to service our existing customers in the Midlands and the South, but it is also a strategic move which will put us in a prime position to support major infrastructure projects such as HS2 and the construction programme leading up to the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham in 2022.”

The acquisition of the office will also see the creation of seven new positions within the rental firm. The company has already recruited three new staff members and another four are expected to join the UKSSH team over the coming months.
