Aiming high: Decision looms for Golden Mile contract

Japan's Taisei Corporation is among the companies chasing the contract to build Nakheel's Trump Tower on The Palm Jumeirah. The AED 2.2 billion (US$ 600 million) Palm Trump International Hotel and Tower will be the first joint venture between Nakheel and The Trump Organisation.

A spokesman at the Trump Tower development team was reported to have said that progress is being made and a shortlist for the main contractor is expected this month. During the summer, Arabian Forasol Foundations started work on the 61–storey structure, which will form the centrepiece of the Golden Mile on the Palm Jumeirah. The development will be made up of a 378–room ? ve–star hotel and 397 residential apartments.
