William Sinclair, immediate past president of the NFDC, has confirmed that he will make a presentation at the 2015 World Demolition Summit and as a result joins his father David Sinclair in the speaker line-up. David has accepted the position of keynote speaker to open the event.

William will take as his general theme “The demolition role in urban redevelopment”, and hopes that, subject to project timing, a major part of this will be a report on the simultaneous implosion of the six Red Road tower blocks in Glasgow that was held over from 2014. Should this not be possible, it is likely that the first UK use of Despe’s TopDownWay modular deconstruction system will take centre stage.

The system is being used to demolish another two Glasgow tower blocks, the ‘Gallowgate Twins’, with progress well underway. Indeed, progress has been so good that the demolition of the second of the two, originally due to be carried out next year, will in fact be completed by the end of this year
