Argentinian and Ivory Coast contracts for Aggreko

Temporary power provider Aggreko said it had secured new contracts in Argentina and Ivory Coast.

The company signed a two-year contract to supply an additional 150 MW of diesel-fuelled power in Argentina.

This agreement was awarded by Energia Argentina, together with a separate agreement to extend Aggreko’s existing 300 MW of capacity with the same customer for approximately two more years.

Aggreko said the contract negotiations had also resulted in a settlement being reached on an amount of outstanding debt. It said it expected a small increase in the 2014 full year trading profit as a result.

Meanwhile on the Ivory Coast, the company signed a three-year extension for 200 MW of gas-fuelled plant, with the option for the customer to extend this for a further two years.

The original contract, initially awarded by the Société des Energies de Côte d'Ivoire in 2010, will reinforce the power supply in Cote d'Ivoire.

Aggreko’s new CEO Chris Weston said, "It is pleasing to build on existing relationships and to have been selected to assist our customers in Argentina and Cote d'Ivoire with their on-going power needs.

"The extension of 500 MW of existing contracts, for multiple years and new work in Argentina gives us positive momentum as we begin 2015."
