Equipment manufacturer Atlas Copco has opened a new headquarters for its speciality rental business in Boom, Belgium.

The brand new building will also serve as the main competence centre for Atlas Copco’s rental business in the region, supporting its network of 50 depots and customers across Europe.

The facility has cost €5 million and 80 Atlas Copco employees will be based there.

The company said it had built the facility to create maximum efficiency and to be highly ergonomic for its workers. The building meets top environmental standards and includes solar panels and water recuperation for machine cleaning, the company said.

Andrew Walker, business area president of construction technique, Atlas Copco, said, “This modern facility will further strengthen our position in Europe as a total solutions provider of temporary air, power, steam and nitrogen solutions to manufacturing, oil and gas, power and mining customers.”

The company recently opened a new facility in North America, worth over €22 million. It will see generators, portable compressors and other equipment produced at the plant.
