Sunnybanks Homes, a housebuilder based in South East Cornwall, UK has purchased a 10 m Bobcat T35100L telehandler from distributor Kellands (Plant Sales) Ltd.

The new T35100L has replaced the older of the company’s two existing Bobcat T3093CD telehandlers purchased in 2003. The other younger T3093CD model has been retained and continues to work on the company’s housing projects.

Andrew Walsh, construction director at Sunnybanks Homes, said: "After a thorough examination of all the makes of this size of telehandler on the market, we chose the Bobcat T35100L model because it offers the feature of frame levelling on the axles, an aspect of the T3093CD that we found very useful. The T35100L model was the largest telehandler we could purchase with this feature in place.”

The T35100L's frame levelling system allows lateral tilt correction and vertical positioning of the boom on rough terrain. For safe frame levelling at any boom angle, two frame-levelling speeds are available.

The T35100L telehandler has a lift capacity of 2500 kg at a maximum lift height of 10.09 m, working on tyres alone. The lift capacity at maximum outreach of 6.91 m is 600 kg when working on tyres. It is powered by a 74.5 kW Perkins 1104D-44TA Turbo diesel engine.

Mr Walsh added: “On sites where the telehandlers have to drive across a lot of ground, the frame-levelling feature allows the machines to keep loads level. The lack of levelling can mean loads are unsettled when driving, with damage to materials such as bricks and blocks and downtime caused by disrupted loads.”

Like the larger 12, 14 and 17 metre Bobcat telehandlers, the T35100L's boom is made from high tensile steel with a high degree of elasticity, allowing the use of thinner plates, reducing the overall weight of the boom, said the company.

With depots in Bridgwater and Camelford in Cornwall, Kellands is the authorised dealer for the Bobcat range in the South West of England.
