Netherlands-headquartered rental company Boels Rental has entered the Swiss market with the acquisition branches in Zurich and Basel from Kuhn.

Switzerland is now the tenth European country in which Boels is active, and it said the opportunity to be able to start from existing premises in Switzerland provided it with a flying start in this market.

Boels said it would be further expanding the product range over the coming months and would ultimately offer the entire Boels range in Switzerland.

CEO Pierre Boels said, “The two branches in Zurich and Basel both have huge potential. Boels has wanted to start in Switzerland for a long time, but finding suitable locations is a lot more difficult than in the rest of Europe. Moreover, the branches in Zurich and Basel are positioned in the strongest economic areas of Switzerland.”

The company has been serving the Swiss DIY market for some time already through its shop-in-shop formula, and has long-standing relationships with Swiss DIY chains.

Boels Rental has 350 branches in Europe.
